The James A. Ramage Civil War Museum, in conjunction with the City of Fort
Wright, Kentucky, presents its 3rd Annual lecture Series. Local Historians share
their knowledge about the Civil War. The lecture series features two local
professors and a retired principal who will share their expert knowledge.
Our June 8th series features Dr. Michael Adams Regents Professor of History at
NKU. He has written books on World War One and Two, as well as the treatment
of war in popular culture from knights to the Iraq War. His latest book is Living
Hell, It is this darker nature of the war that Adams seeks to explore immersing
the reader in all aspects of the human suffering through evoking in great detail
the voices of those who endured the four-year struggle. Not recommended for
children.
June 22, Tom Seither retired principal from Bishop Brossert High school is a
descendent of August Seither. August was Tom's Great Great grandfather.
August had three brothers two who fought for the North and one for the South.
Tom will give firsthand knowledge about his ancestors and explore if the War
caused internal problems after it was over.
July 13, learn about the namesake of Fort Wright, KY., Civil War General Horatio
G. Wright. Living Historian and Ramage Museum volunteer, Thomas Kreidler will
portray the General as part of this years lecture series. The lecture will cover the
General's nearly 50 years in uniform, his role in protecting Cincinnati from
Confederate invasion, and of the culmination of his military career as Chief of the
Corps of Engineers.
Each Lecture series which starts at 2 PM, will be held at the City of Fort Wright's
