GENERAL: Major-General Schofield directs me to say that he desires you to move, as soon as you get your command ready to march, to La Fayette. General Wagner will follow you. The general desires you to send orderlies to the cavalry camp to scout in your front and on your flanks.

General Wagner's infantry and artillery will move by the Broomtown Valley road, and his wagons and cattle will follow your command.
