III. Major General George Stoneman is assigned to duty as second in command of the Department of the Ohio, and in the absence of the undersigned will perform all the duties of department commander.

General Stoneman will repair to Knoxville, Tenn., and assume command of the department. He is authorized to remove department headquarters to Louisville, Ky., when in his opinion the interest of the department will be promoted.

IV. Lieutenant Colonel G. M. Bascom, assistant adjutant-general, will report to General Stoneman for duty upon the expiration of his leave of absence.

V. Major J. A. Campbell, assistant adjutant-general, will report for duty at these headquarters.

Vi. Captain Clinton A. Cilley, assistant adjutant-general, is assigned to duty at these headquarters.
