Hood succeeded in crossing the Tennessee four miles above Florence yesterday at 4 p. m. I therefore urge to send forward Generals A. J. Smith's and Mower's DIVISIONS to report to me at Johnsoville, terminus of Nashville and Northwestern Railroad, on the Tennessee, as rapidly as possible.
