II. Major General Lew. Wallance, U. S. Volunteers, will proceed, via the Rio Grande, to Western Texas, and inspect the condition of military affairs in that vicinity and on the Rio Grande. Military authorities will afford him every means in their power ot facilitate him in the execution of this order.
