COLONEL: In compliance with circular from headquarters Army of the Potomac, February 4, 1865, relative to the divisions and brigades in this corps now commanded by colonels, I have the honor to submit the following report: First Division: First Brigade, Bvt. Brigadier General William H. Penrose, colonel Fifteenth New Jersey Volunteers, absent on account of wounds, now commanded by Lieutenant Colonel E. L. Campbell, Fifteenth New Jersey Volunteers; Second Brigade, Brigadier General R. S. Mackenzie; Third Brigade, Bvt. Brigadier General Joseph E. Hamblin, colonel Sixty-fifth New York Volunteers. Second Division: First Brigade, Colonel J. M. Warner, Eleventh Vermont Volunteers; this officer's name has been sent to the Senate for confirmation as brevet brigadier-general U. S. Volunteers; Second Brigade, Brigadier General L. A. Grant; Third Brigade, Colonel T. W. Hyde, First Maine Veteran Volunteers. Third Division: First Brigade, Colonel William S. Truex, Fourteenth New Jersey Volunteers; Second Brigade, Bvt. Brigadier General J. W. Keifer, colonel One hundred and tenth Ohio Volunteers, absent on surgeon's certificate of disability, now commanded by Colonel B. F. Smith, One hundred and twenty-sixth Ohio Volunteers.

GENERAL: I have the honor to report this division massed as you desired in the open field near the Cummings house. My headquarters are fifty paces from the line of troops and 200 yards west of Cummings' house. Cavalry had already occupied the other field near the run. Am in good shape, ready and anxious to serve you.
