General SMYTH:

GENERAL: Genera Warren informs me by a second dispatch* that General Crawford, in advancing, has drawn the enemy's artillery fire from the north side of Hatcher's Run, and requests that if I have any artillery that can reply to these guns that it will do so, and that if I have any artillery near Armstrong's Mill requests that it may fire to the west of the second of musketry firing of General Crawford, who is advancing to Dabney's Mill. Please do whatever you can to carry out the wishes of General Warren.
