Fort Fisher:

General Bragg directs me to say the re-enforcements being sent you from Hebert and Hoke will render you impregnable against assault. The enemy are between batteries Gatlin and Anderson, hugging the beach. As soon as they move down we will make a corresponding movement and, if opportunity occurs, attack. Please report by the bearer the effect of the enemy's fire of to-day.
