Commanding Ninth Corps:

Dispatch received. The major-general commanding congratulates you upon retaking your line without assistance. He would like you to take the offensive, if practicable. If this is not practicable, and you are satisfied that the affair is over and all is quiet on your front, you can send out and halt General Warren, who is moving up. Report where you fiend this corps, and let it await further orders.
