General Gamble, commanding at Fairfax Court-House, reports that a rebel deserter just arrived there states that Pickett's division passed through Staunton on Monday last to join Early in the Valley.

I send the report for your consideration. I will have the deserter sent in here in the morning and get his story in full.

There is a gang of murderers infesting Loudoun, who have done incalculable service for the rebels for the last four years. The leader of the band is named Mobberly, and is one of Mosby's right-hand men.
