Please suggest to General Sheridan that he can return by way of Roanoke Station, and at that point procure rations if he desires them. Let me know if the quantity sent is rendered too great by Sheridan's not coming this way. Notify these headquarters of General Sheridan's position, and acknowledge receipt of this dispatch.
