The movement of troops ordered for this day will be deferred until to-morrow, when it will take place in accordance with previous instructions. The several commands will remain in their former camps or select camps adjacent to the point where they may be on receipt of the order.

4. Under paragraph 7, Special Orders, No. 114, May 4, 1865, the Army of the Potomac will pass through Richmond to-morrow, the head of the column passing the upper pontoon bridge at 9 a.m. For the infantry the route of march will be changed so as to pass on Twentieth street to Main street from Cary, instead of through Nineteenth street as ordered.

The wagon trains will move through Twenty-first street to Franklin street, then west to Nineteenth street, then north toward Mechanicsville. The headquarters and Fifth Corps trains keeping east of the Virginia Central Railroad will move toward Hanover Court-House, but the Fifth Corps train will not proceed beyond the junction of the road leading from the Brook road to Hanover Court-House until after the passing of the Fifth Corps; this train will then follow its corps. The trains of the Second Corps will leave the route of the Fifth Corps trains and taking the Meadow Bridge road will cross the Virginia Central Railroad and will await the passage of its corps at the junction of this road with the road leading from the Brook road to Hanover Court-House.

General headquarters will be at or near Hanover Court-House.

5. Brigadier-General Benham, after marching the Engineer Brigade through the city to-morrow morning, will repair to City Point and complete his arrangements for shipping the pontoon and siege material under his charge at that point to the city of Washington, upon which he will repair to that point and arrange for the proper care and storage of that material and for the disposition of the troops of the Engineer Brigade as they shall report there.
