As it is probable that the corps will remain in its present camp for some days, commanders are directed to have their camps well arranged, sinks built, and every attention paid to the police of their camps and vicinity. Division commanders and the commander of the Artillery Brigade will report the location of their headquarters. Corps headquarters are for the present on the Falls Church road opposite the Government farms.

Commanding Third Division:

GENERAL: The major-general commanding desires me to inform you that he will leave for Richmond to-morrow morning, to be gone for two or three days, and that during his absence you will be in command of the corps. Lieutenant-Colonel Franklin, Major Manning, and myself will accompany the general, and Major R. F. Halsted, aide-de-camp, will perform the duties of assistant adjutant-general during my absence.
