CIRCULAR.] HEADQUARTERS THIRD CORPS,

Kellysville, Va., November 8, 1863-12. 50 a. m.

Brigadier-General Carr, commanding Third Division, will at daylight carry the hill in his front, which commands this position. He will be supported by General Prince with his entire command on his immediate right. General Ward, with the First Division, will advance so as to keep up the connection with the First Division, will advance so as to keep up the connection with the Second Division.

The chief of artillery will order a battery to report to each division commander, and will place the remaining batteries in position to cover this advance.

The columns of attack will be formed according to the circular of the 6th instant from these headquarters.

Brigadier-General Ward, commanding First Division, will flank the batteries attached to his division with a column of infantry on both sides wherever practicable. He will also flank the reserve batteries in his rear in same manner.

Move forward from Paoli Mills, half way to Stevensburg, where a road to Brandy Station branches. If you can find a road on north side of Mountain Run, use it in preference.
