CIRCULAR.] HDQRS. SECOND DIVISION, CAVALRY CORPS,

November 22, 1863.

This command will be in readiness to move at 6 a. m., as the wagon train will not accompany the troops.

Brigade commanders will have their commands supplies with three days' rations from to-morrow evening, and two days' forage from the same period. No wagons will accompany the troops save one wagon for the headquarters of each brigade and one for each battery. All other wagons will be parked, and will report to the division quartermaster before the hour specified for the moving of the troops.

On account of the unfavorable appearance of the morning, the troops will not move from their camps until further orders from these headquarters. They will, however, be prepared to move at very short notice should be weather clear up after daylight.

My parties on the road between here and Brandy Station I find are too small to do all the work, and the road will still be in bad condition at sunset. If any troops are to move very soon over that road, there should be very heavy working parties on it at once.
