Colonel FLYNT:

We have got across to this side six good-sized flat-boats to-day, and expect two more down the river to-night; also have a new one building. All will be soon made ready for use. Colonel King crossed today and reports a good defensible position on the other side. Have sent 3 men over to-night and expect a report from them tomorrow night.
