I crossed the river with all my wagons yesterday afternoon, and went into camp at this place. I will be delayed here for some time by General Negley's wagons. There is still a large number to go up the mountain.

I have no news. I have heard no firing. I am in a good position to hear it, if there has been any. The last of General Negley's trains reached the top of the mountain at 11 o'clock this morning, when I immediately started. My division is now coming up. My headquarters will be to-night at Gunther's Mill, 4 miles from this point.

or at Bridgeport.

Shellmound:

The bridge at Bridgeport is all right. Let a portion of Van Cleve's and Palme'r trains cross at Shellmound and part at Bridgeport. When you get through with boats at Shellmound, send them down to Bridgeport to be put in order.
