Heavy firing is going on in the direction of Bridgeport, and I judge about that distance from here.

In reporting firing give the number of guns you hear per minute.

Give bearings of station from communicating station and Foraker's station.

The firing continued about two hours. Cannot tell the number of shots, but it was rapid. Apparently at Bridgeport.

My station from the fort is north 35 degrees west; from Foraker's, west-northwest; from Jones', east.
