The general commanding has directed that one regiment be sent temporarily to report to you. He also says the guerrillas must be cleaned out from your neighborhood, and great pains must be taken to protect trains. For any surrender of a train the officer in charge will be severely punished, and will not be excused.

COLONEL: The general commanding directs that you detail a party this morning to go out and press from cavalry wealthy farmers sheep and cattle enough for a day's rations, and take measures at once to have the firing that is going on in camp stopped. He also directs that you see that the horses of your command are thoroughly groomed this morning.
