In compliance with Special Orders, No. 37, headquarters Second Division, Sixteenth Army Corps, the Fifty-seventh and One hundred and twentieth Illinois Infantry, Captain Kidd's 4-gun battery, and section of artillery commanded by Captain Tannrath will march

to-morrow morning by the nearest route and rejoin the respective commands.

The infantry and Fourteenth Indiana Battery will proceed to Corinth, Captain Tannrath's section accompanying them as far as Pocahontas, where it will join its command.

Major-General SLOCUM:

By direction of the major-general commanding, you will detach one brigade of your command to relieve a brigade of the Eleventh Corps, at the following named points: Three companies at or near Tantalon, two companies at Anderson, two companies at Cowan, three companies between Stevenson and Bridgeport, the residue of the brigade taking post at Stevenson with brigade headquarters. The movement will be made as soon as cars can be furnished for that purpose, for which you will direct your quartermaster to make requisition. As soon as the foregoing changes have been made, you will consider your command as extending the entire length of the line of railroad occupied by your corps.
