GENERAL: I am directed by the commanding general to say that he has just received a communication from Major-General Sherman, and that the entire army is moving to our assistance. He wishers the troops informed of this fact, and he directs that cartridge-boxes be filled, all stragglers and foragers collected together, and everything done to make the command as effective as possible to-morrow morning.
