Richmond papers of to- day recived. The following items are sent:

FROMNORTH CAROLINA.

Ther was a rumor on the streets yesterday that Geenral Johnston had attacked Sheman in his intrenchments at Bentonville and drriven him out of them. We have received no official intelligence confimatory of the rumor, and for this and other reasons doubt that here is foundation to it.

The Examiner says that the hotels of Richmond, some ix or seven, are now refuced to two- the Spotswood and American. The sscantiness of the markets and the high prices of provisions have necessitatedthe closing of all save the two hotels named, whose proprietors are strugling against the adverse circumstnces of the times to keep their honses open.
