JANUARY 3, 1863.

Colonel Lowe reports that a train going from Fort Donelson to Fort Henry was attacked by Spaulding's band of guerrillas. A fight ensued. Spaulding was killed and several other, with some prisoners, and routing the remainder. Our loss, 3 killed and 3 taken prisoners.
