It was Pinson's Mississippi cavalry that Major Stewart engaged yesterday evening.

Slemons' Arkansas cavalry were south of Hatchie and Brownsville yesterday morning. Cotton Jackson's cavalry retired from Estanaula, Tenn., Sunday, immediately after the fight at mouth of Clower Creek, and on Monday were returning toward La Grange. This is what is credibly reported.
