GENERAL: Little's division will move to-morrow on the road leading by Peyton's Mill. Maury will probably move by the old Natchez Trace road. General Price will leave at sunrise and stop at Peyton's Mill or beyond.

Brigadier-General LITTLE, Commanding Division:

GENERAL: You will move your division at sunrise to-morrow, or immediately after the major-general shall have passed, upon the left-hand or most western road to Iuka. They fork about 1 1 1/2 miles northeast of this place. Please order all wagons to be kept out of the road until you begin to move. Send your forage agents forage ahead to purchase forage and make the neighbors haul it to your encampment, which will a little beyond Peyton's Mill. Allow General Armstrong's wagons to pass you on the right-hand road before sunrise, if they can do so without delaying march. Send your pioneers ahead early enough to repair the road.

HEADQUARTERS ARMY OF THE WEST, Camp Number 4, Peyton's Mill, Miss., September 13, 1862.

Brigadier-General MAURY, Commanding Division:

GENERAL: Armstrong is at Iuka. He drove in the enemy's pickets at about 11 a.m., but had to retire when the enemy opened their artillery. He thinks that they only one brigade. General Price will advance to-night as soon as the moon rises. You will push forward with two brigades of your infantry, bringing one day's rations on the person and leaving a detail behind to bring on two days' rations in the wagons. The distance is about 13 miles from here.
