Your telegram of the 12th received. The policy of your proposed movements depends upon General Grant's general place in regard to co-operation, and must be decided on by him. It is very different from what he last proposed. He is now at Nashville. Communicate directly with him on the subject.

They crossed at Panola at Rocky Ford; I do not know the named of the other point. The main body under Forrest at Panola. This information was got from a lieutenant-colonel of Ferguson's command.
