SIR: In pursuance of instructions from Major General S. A. Hurlbut, you will call upon Captain J. V. Lewis, assistant quartermaster, and arrange for a boat to carry your command up the river.
As soon as mustered you will make a written report of the facts to these headquarters and march your command on board of the boat.
