Commanding, &c.:
GENERAL: At this point I am turning my command off to the Mount Pleasant pike, which is about one mile distant by the cross-road. I send my train into town, and so out in rear of my troops. We strike the Mount Pleasant pike three miles from town; I will look for position there. Have heard no sound of battle, nor seen any signs of the enemy.
