I have the honor to report that I am here with my command. General Orders, Numbers 227, breaking up the Sixteenth Army Corps, has been received. I am now, by Special Field Orders, Numbers 334, detached headquarters Department of the Cumberland, Nashville, Tenn., December 6, 1864, called the Detachment Army of the Tennessee. I make this my report to show you my whereabouts.

Commanding First Division, Detachment Army of the Tennessee:

GENERAL: The major-general commanding directs me to say that the desires the subsistence trains to be loaded as rapidly as possible with field rations, and that full rations be drawn to include the 15th instant to-dat. Care should be taken that the cartridge-boxes of the men and the ammunition-chests of the batteries are full, and that each regiment has its ten additional rounds per man.
