II. Colonel James T. Wheeler, First [Sixth] Tennessee Cavalry, and Major J. H. Akin, Ninth Battalion Tennessee Cavalry, will report with their commands to Major General Forrest, commanding cavalry, for temporary duty.

CIRCULAR.] HEADQUARTERS ARMY OF TENNESSEE,
Near Nashville, Tenn., December 5, 1864.
General Hood desires me to inform you that Major General Forrest captured, this morning, the block-house and fort at La Vergne, with some commissary, stores, 100 prisoners, two pieces of artillery, 100 small arms and ammunition, with about 20 wagons and some teams. General Bate has burned three block-houses. General Hood desires that this news be furnished to the troops.
