VI. The necessary officers of the different staff departments will be assigned by army commanders, and until this shall be done officers will be detailed to act as such.
VII. The following officers are assigned as commandants of said camps, and will report accordingly: Selme, Brigadier General R. C. Tyler, Provisional Army, C. S. Opelika, Lieutenant Colonel J. W. Buford; Okolona, Colonel J. W. Colquitt, First Arkansas Volunteers.

Macon, Ga.:Captain Reid, commanding at Corinth, Miss., Reports that "scouts from vicinity of Memphis report that Steele with 15,000 men landed at that point on last Thursday and passed up the river Saturday." Respectfully request that all men belonging to this army and any re-enforcements that can be spared be sent forward as soon as possible.
