The enemy is advancing north the Holston; was at Rogersville yesterday at 12 o'clock. General Duke is on that road, and I will keep you posted, but you had better ask General Breckinridge for instructions.

General Taylor this day telegraphs that General Hood has drawn off all the force of Roddey in the direction of Huntdsville. I have telegraphed General Taylor to maintain a sufficient garrison at Corinth and let Roddey execute the orders of General Hood.

Commanding, &c.:General Hood directs that, unless the line between Corinth and Tuscumbia, which you are now protecting, is threatened by the enemy, you will join the main army with your command as soon as possible, leaving the regiment at Decatur, as heretofore directed.
