I. The two sub-districts heretofore known as the Sub-district of Northwest Mississippi and the Sub-district of Central Mississippi, are hereby consolidated into one, which will be known as the Sub-district of West Mississippi.

II. Brigadier General Wirt Adams, commanding at present the Sub-district of Central Mississippi, is assigned to the command of the Sub-district of West Mississippi.

Lee's corps, about 5,000 strong, has commenced moving to-day. It will be pushed forward as rapidly as possible. General Taylor arrived here last night. I will probably leave this evening via Mobile and Montgomery.

For what purpose do you desire General Roddey's brigade? His removal from his present locality has been twice followed by unfortunate results, and hence some hesitation is left in authorizing a change.

COLONEL: General Beauregard desires that General Hood will send with the troops going to Georgia 100 rounds of small-arms ammunition per man, including what they have in their cartridge-boxes, and 100 rounds of ammunition per gun for the light batteries. He desires, also, that the ordnance wagons, ambulances, and a due proportion of the supply train belonging to them, should also be sent.
