Commanders of regiments, detachments, and companies unassigned will at once report to these headquarters at Russellville the station, condition, and strength of their respective commands.

The force at Memphis has been greatly reduced lately by order from Major General E. R. S. Canby, and with exception of cavalry is very small. Do you understand that General Dana is to take the cavalry with him to Vicksburg? It is much wanted here.
