X. Pursuant to orders from the War Department, Colonel C. H. Carlton, Eighty-ninth Ohio Volunteer Infantry, is hereby relieved from command of the post of Chattanooga, and will repair to Paducah, Ky., and relieve Brigadier General S. Meredith from command of that post. General Meredith upon being relieved will obey such orders as he may have received from the War Department.
