General Duffie, commanding Cavalry Division, will immediately send a couple of squadrons to scout the country toward Balcony Falls, and collect all available information, reporting the result without delay to the ese headquarters. Find out where Breckinridge is.

SIR: Parties have been sent in all directions to obtain information of the enemy and his movements, besides the squadron sent on the Balcony Falls road. Everything is closed up, and my column is moving. I have not yet received any information of importance. I hope to- night to be able to give you the whereabouts of [Breckinridge].
