Washington, D. C., July 12, 1864.1. Colonel M. N. Wisewell, Veteran Reserve Corps, is hereby announced as provost-marshal-general of this department. He will be obeyed and respected accordingly.
2. Hereafter all applications for passes within this department must be made to the provost-marshal-general Department of Washington, headquarters corner of Nineteenth and I streets. All passes heretofore granted from these headquarters are hereby canceled.

Also, that your order such of the Loyal Leagues as are organized to report to you there for duty. Such other troops as can be procured will be sent you. Please notify of your action and the location of your headquarters.
