b This battery has less than 130 rounds per gun, and the 7-inch Brooke is deficient in cartridges and should be increased. The cartridges for the 42-pounder are large. By a reduction to make then 9 rounds it will give a surplus of 120 pounds powder, which will raise the Brooke to 81 rounds.
