GENERAL: Major Jenkins did not call on me Saturday, as you supposed he would, but called to-day. His suggestion seems to me good and promises success. As a number of troops was landed on Folly Island yesterday I cannot immediately give the aid asked fort, but may be able to do so in a day or so. In the mean time repair the bridge at Haulover Cut and make the other necessary arrangements. I will communicate further with you on the subject.
