He served for two years as chief quartermaster Department of the northwest, with what fidelity to the Government and regard for the public interests the records in the office of the Quartermaster- General will abundantly show. He is an officer of integrity, intelligence, and sobriety, and entirely capable of discharging the duties of any position to which he may be assigned. I have the honor to request, general, that You will give this recommendation a favorable indorsement and forward it to the proper authority.
