Senators Lane and Wilson and Congressman Wilder apply to have General Blunt ordered to report to Major General Ed. R. S. Canby. Please say to them, if Major General Ed. R. S. Canby applies for General Blunt he can have him. I cannot, however, order an officer with rank above all subordinates in Major General Ed. R. S. Canby's military division without first knowing his pleasure in the matter.
