of the four brigaded commanders with me on that expedition is ow present, nor have I seen one of them or had any report whatever of the part taken by brigades or regiments. My division will soon be reorganized, when I trust to be able to make my report. To have done this before now or at this time would, necessarily do injustice to the troops I had the honor to command. Just as soon as I can prepare myself with reports from my regimental and brigade commanders, I shall without delay and with great pleasure forward my official report.
