GENERAL: I inclose herewith a copy of a letter* received yesterday from Major General B. Huger inclosing a list of Federal prisoners taken at South Mills. Twenty are released on parole and three have died.

Corcoran Sixty-ninth New York State Militia; Colonel Willcos, First Michigan Volunteers; Major I. V. D. Reeve, First U. S. Infantry; First Lieutenant D. S. Gordon Second U. S. Cavalry; First Lieutenant J. Ford Kent, Third U. S. Infantry; First Lieutenant G. B. Kirby, Forty-seventh New York Volunteers.

Davidson, Twenty-third Regiment Mississippi Volunteers, now at Fort Warren, or any other officer of the same rank. Please to reply as soon as convenient as friends are at Fort Monroe waiting to learn if the exchange can be made.
