Respectfully returned to the Commissary-General of Prisoners, with the information that Colonel R. J. Breckinridge, Provisional Army, Confederate States of America, is held as a prisoner of war, and is so reported in five-days' report of February 28, 1865. He was forwarded to the State prison at Columbus, Ohio, February 27, 1865, by order of the Secretary of War, through Major-General Palmer, commanding Deparment of Kentucky.
