1. Brigadier General C. Grover, U. S.service, is relieved from duty in Western Louisiana, and will report for special duty to Major General J. J. Reynolds, commanding Defenses at New Orleans.

2. The Third Division, Thirteenth Army Corps, is assigned to duty in the district of the Defenses of New Orleans, and will be reported to Major-General Reynolds.

The following-named regiments and companies of cavalry will be sent, upon the dates hereafter mentioned, to Brashear City, and thence by rail to New Orleans, to be reported to the chief of cavalry: Seventy-fifth New York, on the 17th of January; Company C, Fourth Indiana, and Company A, Thirty-sixth Illinois, on the 18th of January; Second Louisiana, on the 20th of January; Sixth Missouri, on the 22nd of January. The quartermaster's department will furnish the necessary transportation.
