At the same time he wishes you to guard the position between the left of General Gibbon and the intrenchments passing across and to the left of the plank road, and to give him timely notice of anything that may occur, showing an advance of the enemy. You have picket of the Sixth Corps in front of you, embracing your front and left to Sturdivant's Mill and you have cavalry on all the roads in your front.
