I. The department commander has appointed Lieutenant Colonel E. W. Smith assistant adjutant-general on his staff, relieving him from duty with the Tenth Army Corps. In parting with this officer the major-general commanding the corps takes pleasure in testifying to his assiduous attention to the duties of his office. He also is pleased with the advancement of a good soldier,although he may regret losing such a staff officer.

II. Captain E. L. Ford,aide-de-camp, will temporarily fill the position of assistant adjutant-general.

III. Captain C. H. Graves, assistant adjutant-general of volunteers, is announced as an aide-de-camp to the commanding general, and will be obeyed and respected accordingly.

1. The Birney First Sharpshooters (Two hundred and third Pennsylvania Volunteers) are assigned to the Second Brigade, Second Division. The proper allowance of transportation and camp equipage will be at once assigned to the regiment.
