I am just in receipt of dispatch from the Secretary of War asking me to send more troops to the city of New York, and if possible to let you go there until after the election. I wish you would start for Washington immediately, and be guided by orders from there in the matter.

COLONEL: I hope you will do me the favor to request General Butler to order my telegraph to be re-established at Broadway. My line of siege batteries is nearly seventeen mile long, and my most important business is often necessarily done by telegraph. The nearest station is now at General Graham's headquarters, at least three miles distant. The economy in orderlies will, I think, nearly balance the cost of the office.

1. The Two hundred and sixth Pennsylvania Volunteers, Colonel H. J. Brady commanding, is hereby assigned to the Third Brigade, First Division, Tenth Army Corps. The commanding officer of the Third Brigade will so encamp this regiment as that every facility shall be afforded for discipline and drill.
