On the morning of the 23rd found the ram had been blown up during the night; the heavy battery was taken out of position and brought up at the head of Huntington street, and parked with Lieutenant Scott's section. About 7 p. m. the section under Lieutenant Freeman arrived and parked with the rest of the battery, where we now remain.

LIEUTENANT: I have the honor to report the following list of captures of animals and forage from the enemy during the recent campaign just closed: 15 horses, 15 mules, 500 bushels corn, 2 tons corn fodder, 8 tons rice in sheaf, 50 bushels sweet potatoes, 400 pounds flour, 10 horses and 15 mules turned over to quartermaster's department, 5 horses abandoned.
