General Torbert has just sent word from Shepherdstown that a large force had followed Cesnola on the Charlestown and Shepherdstown road, and wishes its character determined. Please send out two or three scouting parties toward Duffield' and beyond, with instructions to ascertain if any troops are moving toward Shepherdstown.
